Three superstars of the sport – Cindeen Shelby, El Galo and Velocette – are 2009 Victorian Greyhound of the Year finalists.

A GOTY panel selected the short list, from a total of 18 nominees, on January 15.

Who will win the state’s ultimate accolade and be crowned the 36th Victorian GOTY on greyhound racing’s glittering night of nights?

Here’s the GOTY finalists’ race statistics – including Group race finals – during 2009:

CINDEEN SHELBY
(Female – August 2006 Bombastic Shiraz-Proper Shelby)
Race starts: 22 – 13 wins, 5 seconds, 1 third
Owner: Raymond Parkinson (Salt Ash, NSW)

Each GOTY panellist individually casts one vote for one greyhound and places their vote in seperate sealed envelopes.

The GOTY will be announced at a gala GRV Industry Awards Night – with a splash of “Pink” theme – to be held at the palatial Crown Entertainment Complex on Friday, February 12.
